Double dose of thyroxine

Hi my sister has just spoke to me and by mistake she's has taken a double dose of thyroxine..She normally takes 75 mg .Should she leave tomorrows medication?

Difficult to answer.

If she feels over-dosed, might be an idea. But if she doesn't, probably little point.

If she gets 75 microgram (mcg) tablets, she could split one tomorrow. Or if she has 50 and 25, she obviously has more options.

75mcg daily is a low dose unless she’s very petite

She might just feel a bit better over next week

What are her most recent thyroid and vitamin results

Hi SlowDragon She's not very petite although she might have lost a lot of weight due to major surgery 3 months ago.I,ve got know idea what her thyroid and vitamins are.I believe she's having a thyroid test next week.I,ve told her to get print outs of her results before, but she tends to listen to her Doctor.!!!!!I,ve tried to convince her their not always right....

Make sure she tests early morning, ideally before 9am, only drinking water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

B12 levels often decimated after anaesthetic
