Hi all,I got a thyroid function test done from Monitor My Health (NHS lab in UK). Everything has come back in normal range, including TPO antibodies. Test was done fasted (just water) and no levothyroxine for 24 hours prior to test). Can I admit now the GP was right and my hypothyroidism is under control?
TPO = 9 IU/L (35+ suggests autoimmune)
TSH = 1.84 mU/L (0.27-4.2 mU/L)
FT4 = 17.8 pmol/L (12-22 pmol/L)
FT3 = 4.2 pmol/L;(3.1-6.8 pmol/L)
I need to look for another reason for heart palpitations and low energy.
Thanks

Please remember that when GPs say ‘normal’ or ‘within range’ this may not mean optimal for you. Most members report feeling best with TSH under 1.
As a first option, there is plenty of wriggle room for you to increase Levothyroxine to see if this will raise FT3 and alleviate any adverse symptoms. I had palpitations when both over and under medicated thyroid wise.
What dose of Levo are you taking at the moment?
Did you test key thyroid vitamins in your recent test?
Hi Buddy195. I spoke to the cardiologist and suggested I needed to increase my thyroxine and he is now insisting I reduce it to 75ug. He's going to contact my GP to advise this. I was too shocked on the phone to argue. 😔 Not the outcome I expected or wanted.
Your GP might be happy with those results but if you are still symptomatic then the fact that your results support the fact that you need an increase in Levo to bring your TSH to 1 or below and quite possibly if your conversion doesn't improve then a trial of T3
