Give a copy of these results to his GP

Request GP retest thyroid levels in 6-8 weeks

Meanwhile improving low vitamin D

GP should prescribe 1600iu everyday for 6 months

NHS Guidelines on dose vitamin D required

ouh.nhs.uk/osteoporosis/use...

GP will often only prescribe to bring vitamin D levels to 50nmol.

Some areas will prescribe to bring levels to 75nmol or even 80nmol

leedsformulary.nhs.uk/docs/...

GP should advise on self supplementing if over 50nmol, but under 75nmol (but they rarely do)

mm.wirral.nhs.uk/document_u...

But improving to around 80nmol or 100nmol by self supplementing may be better

Once Improve level, very likely he will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Test twice yearly when supplementing

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is very effective as it avoids poor gut function.

There’s a version made that also contains vitamin K2 Mk7.

One spray = 1000iu

perhaps initially 2000iu daily

It’s trial and error what dose we need, with thyroid issues we frequently need higher dose than average

Retest in 3 months

Might need higher dose in winter than summer

As SD says, time to involve his GP and check that they accept these results, some of them absolutely refuse to acknowledge anything but NHS lab result 🙄... if not you need to get them to retest him asap as they are unlikely to start treating him until he has had 2 consecutive above range TSH results and they often like to leave 3 months between retesting

p.s. make sure he only agrees to blood tests before 9am, else chances are his TSH will drop within range later in the day 🤗 you'll be wasting your breath explaining that to the receptionist so make sure he has another reason like transport issues or other commitments 😉 perhaps you book it for him?
