can’t stop Afib until thyroid in range

saw cardiologist a few weeks ago and they refused ablation (not sure if I want one ) but because my thyroid is out won’t do anything! Am so down as in AF 24/7. My tsh range 0.04 -4 was 1.98 endro was happy with it, then had another one a few months later and it had gone to 8.6 that’s why cardiologist said not worth cardioversion or ablation as will just go straight back in ! They hospital will not do a full blood test, hope to do a medicheck one once I am more financially viable. Am on T3 as stopped converting on levo after jibby jabby!

anyone else had these 2 issues and been able to sort? The breathing at times is really bad so I need something doing. But health service here in wales is shockingly bad.

When did you last test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

What vitamin supplements are you taking

Do you have Hashimoto’s

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

On T3 - day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day with last dose 8-12 hours before test

is this how you did last test

Please add most recent TSH, Ft3 and Ft4 results

How much T3 are you currently taking and which brand

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing

thyroiduk.org/testing/

Medichecks Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins

medichecks.com/products/adv...

Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold includes antibodies, cortisol and vitamins

bluehorizonbloodtests.co.uk...

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning.

I had Afib when my T3 was at the bottom of the range. Upped my T3 and it all went away. It really pees me off that we have to pay to get blood results that would be vital before any surgical procedure.

T3 has a very short half life, so splitting the dose at least twice a day means it is more gentle on the body and used to better effect. I agree the health service here is dire. I hope you feel better soon.

Dr John Lowe was a very knowledgeable doctor/scientist who took T3 himself and was an Adviser to Thyroiduk.

He stated that he took one daily dose as it then saturated all of the T3 receptor cells and they, in turn, removed any unpleasant symptoms and the effect could last about three days for one dose of T3..

I have taken the same route which has removed any clinical symptoms and I feel my body 'is normal' as I feel well.
