was test done as recommended, early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested
Also both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once
Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum
About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease, usually diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies
Autoimmune thyroid disease with goitre is Hashimoto’s
Autoimmune thyroid disease without goitre is Ord’s thyroiditis.
Both are autoimmune and generally called Hashimoto’s.
Low vitamin levels are extremely common when hypothyroid, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease
20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis
In U.K. medics hardly ever refer to autoimmune thyroid disease as Hashimoto’s (or Ord’s thyroiditis)
The test was done at 8am in the morning with the last dose of levo being taken 24 hours before the blood test. The brand of levothyroxine is called Euthyrox 150 ( I take one half of these tabs).
Vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 all well within range since I added Thorne 2 a day multi vitamin aswell as 10000iu of D3 + K2
Any thing else I might have missed out please let me know. Thanks!
T4 is 75% through range and T3 63%.Most recommend on here that both be near 3/4 way through so the numbers aren’t far away.TSH also not far off the recommended below 1.How are you feeling?Have you any symptoms?
How did you calculate the through range percentage? ( my maths skills is poor haha)
I currently feel a lot better than when I started such as getting up from bed is much easier aswell as energy levels are more consistent through out the day compared to before…
I do still have some left over symptoms such as some coldness in extremities and brain fog/poor working memory and periods of feeling abit spacey if that makes sense?
I have few lingering symptoms like the ones you mention, brain fog and kinda lightheaded. You sound as if your heading in right direction anyway. As someone else recommended you could give it another few weeks and then if need be you could add a little extra a couple of days per week.
The aim is to get your TSH to around 1.00 which is where a healthy persons thyroid results mainly are. To achieve that the T4 and T3 levels must be optimal for you. Looking at your results you look pretty optimal. I get my bloods done without and with taking my T4 levo and T3 lio as I want to know they don’t go too high or too low therefore optimal. I find both over and under medication can give you similar symptoms. Also check you vitamins B12, folate, vitamin D and ferritin as if these are low you could be getting symptoms. It’s all about getting things balanced and once they are keeping them so
