I am very much with you regarding sticking to something if you are convinced it is working for you.
The lack of transparency is a nightmare. Who knows why you are having this problem? We can imagine that your pharmacy is using a different distributor that doesn't handle Teva, or the same distributor but they have decided not to handle Teva, or ...
And is this for simplicity? Or a better line of credit being promised? Are pharmacies merging and rationalising who they deal with? Or being spun off?
Knowing might not make much difference to the occurrence of the problem. But it might help you to understand what you can do to overcome the problem.
I am in Scotland and my LLoyds Pharmacy has been taken over by Rowlands, which is owned by Phoenix. My prescription is now taking an average of 10 days from ordering. It is now "off site dispensing" or similar. This means that my prescription request is sent from Scotland to England. It is made up in England and sent up to my pharmacist staffed Rowlands Pharmacy , who do not allow you to collect the prescription and remove from the premises unless 2 pharmacists are on the premises, even though it has been made up in England.
It rings a bell that it may be being made up in Runcorn, Cheshire as I believe this was mentioned on the packaging at one stage, but I can't find it now on any of the stickers and packaging I still have. At the time that I saw this I googled on the internet to see if there was an explanation on the internet about this situation. I was left with the impression that it was "robotic picking" which was being used, and think Hey Pharmacy was part of the set up, and had invested a huge amount of money in this technology.
When I look now the information I saw then , I can no longer find.
I wonder if the current problems described above are being created by "automatic robotic picking", where the system may require a manual over- ride if anything other than the cheapest option is required.
