Getting my prescription….

I currently live in a rural area in South west Scotland, I am prescribed both Levo & Lio as my thyroid was removed a few years ago….but actually getting the prescription is a stress every month…

I have to order it via the GP prescription line /answer machine

A few days later I have to phone and check the GP has approved it….

A few days later I have to phone the pharmacy to find out if it is ready for collection…

then I need to arrange collection……

I was diagnosed with Alheimers last year so my memory problems do make this all difficult for me (+ my husband)

Has anyone any advice on using online pharmacy?

Have you discussed this with your Practice Manager?

They may be able to offer/ suggest a better service given the problem you are experiencing.

Ask about on-line prescription requests

I registered for on-line ordering through my Practice

I order my prescriptions on-line

Myy prescriptions are on repeat so I don't need to see a GP for each order

This is passed to the surgery.

The prescription is then approved and passed on to my preferred pharmacy.

I collect from pharmacy.

It takes a few days.

Some pharmacies deliver.

Some pharmacies make up prescription boxes filled with required medications

I live in the Scottish Highlands too. I get my levo and lio prescription for 2 months at a time.I order online from the GP and it is in the local pharmacy within the week usually

I'd ask if you could get it 2 monthly.
