Hello All!! It's been about seven weeks since starting T3, so I thought I'd check in and post the newest (Medichecks) blood results. I am so happy with the T3 addition and feel SO much better. Have more energy, a better outlook and even lost some weight. The results show that the TSH has bottomed out, so I think I might need to cut back on Levo.? So, good people of the group, where should I be at? Currently taking 15mcg T3 (Thybon Henning) + 75mcg Levo (Teva) in the am. Bloods were taken fasting, before 9 am, no thyroid meds, a week after the last Biotin dose. I'm gluten-free, vegan.
Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH to those who posted to help me with the T3 initial dosing. I had NO issues whatsoever!
Inflammation: CRP HS X 15.400 mg/L (Range: < 3) (I have a UTI right now)
Ferritin 197.00 ug/L (Range: 30 - 650)
Folate - Serum >45.4 nmol/L (Range: 8.83 - 60.8)
Vitamin B12 - Active >150 pmol/L Change of reference range 23 Oct 2022 (Range: 37.5 - 188)
Vitamin D 128.0 nmol/L Change of reference range 23 Oct 2022 (Range: 50 - 250)
Then your FT3 is showing a false low and would have been higher had you allowed 8-12 hours from last dose of T3.
So you're probably about right then if you feel OK.
See how you feel over the coming months as this dose may yet 'settle' further. If you start feeling different again then get new bloods run and post them in a new post.
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
On T3 - day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day with last dose 8-12 hours before test
Ahhhh... Not doing the split dosing of the T3 was probably what did it. I did wait 26 hours to test after the levo, but didn't realize about the T3. THANK YOU!
Since suppletion with 10 mcg T3 every 2 days I feel tired and eyebrows are balding even more. I feel dizzy few ours after taking it. Could T3 make me more hypo?!
Balou it could because of the way you are taking it. Because it has a short half life you need to take the same dose of t3 every day. This keeps you levels stable. If you take it every 2 days you are creating huge fluctuations which the body does not like.
Similar-ish to my story, will definitely be following progress!
I am a couple weeks past where you are, and after feeling great, I’ve dipped a bit (from being under medicated most likely). I’m still prob 25mcgs of Levo away from target and I’m still undecided on whether I’m keeping my Lio over time. When I started Lio too much too fast too early I had side effects (notably heart racing). That’s generally stopped.
Hi wavedancers. So glad the T3 is working for you. I'm just about to start taking it following a consultation with Roseway who are giving me the usual Thybon Henning 20mcg. It would be good to know what dosing regime you followed. Many thanks.
