Hashimotos and low resting heartbeat

I have hypothyroidism/ hashis and generally have rhb of 44-48, my t4 is 13, T3 6.2, is and my tsh is 0.01.

I feel okish, rather cold and alittle brain foggy not too bad tho… but I am concern how low my rhb is.

On reading it states with Hashi you can have low rhb due to high tsh but given how low mine is it seems rather worrying. Any need for concern of tweaking or changes in meds? I have been on armour and more recently on Dithyron but thinking of changing to t3 and t4 individually rather than a blended tablet.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Well, that doesn't sound right. TSH doesn't cause symptoms whether it's high or low. That's not its job. It's just a messenger from the pituitary to the thyroid to tell it to make more hormone. And why would it just be with Hashi's? Hashi's doesn't cause specific symptoms. The symptoms are due to low - or high - levels of thyroid hormones.

You haven't given ranges, but your FT3 could be too high for you, and that's what's causing the low rhb. Or, it could be the low FT4. Low FT4 doesn't suit everyone. And that's the problem with NDT/combined pills, the ratio doesn't suit everyone. You could try adding in some levo, but it would probably be easier to get a ratio that suits you if you were on T4+T3, rather than a combined pill. :)

sorry, I worded that badly …no my research on line (below) stated that high TSH can cause a low RHB but I’m concerned that my TSH is v low so probably isn’t the cause….but it seems having a low RHB isn’t good.

From Medical news today:

In clinical cases, where a person has a thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) level above 10 and a normal free T4 level, doctors also associate hypothyroidism with a slow heart rate and other significant heart problems. Signs and symptoms do not usually occur in subclinical hypothyroidism.

Preventing heart conditions is one of the primary reasons that doctors need to diagnose and treat clinical cases of hypothyroidism.

No, it doesn't say that high TSH can cause low RHB. It says that hypothyroidism can cause low RHB. TSH does not cause symptoms.

I had to look Dithyron up, seems body builders use it?

Anyway, could you give reference ranges for each of the test results? This is important as they vary from lab to lab.

When did you take your last Dithyron before this blood test? T3 in particular has a short half life.

Your FT4 looks on the low side and you may need it higher.

What are you supplementing with?

What are your most recent results for ferritin, folate, B12 & d3?

We need OPTIMAL vitamin levels for our thyroid hormone to work well.

I am wondering what your iron is doing. Have you had ferritin tested.

Your FT4 is lowish and your FT3 is about right. When I am on NDT mine FT4 is much higher and FT3 about the same as yours to feel well.

Thanks to all… I think I need to get my blood vitamins retested
