Suspect this is overpriced, but I’m interested to know if anyone has tried it. What is your experience?

Can you tell us more please... what is 'this little device' for?

Have attempted to attach a link and/ or screenshot: unsuccessfully.🙄

It’s a wearable sensory device that uses vibrations and sound to (allegedly) lower stress.

Here's a link to it on Amazon, where there are some reviews to read through. amazon.co.uk/Sensate-Device...

My only comment (not having read the details of the product, nor the reviews), would be to say that if your stress/anxiety symptoms are caused by inappropriate thyroid hormone levels, then buying this would likely be throwing money down the drain.

I'm with you.... find the root cause

Easier said than done, though!

Absolutely🙃 Have you dealt with optimising B vits, Folate, Ferritin and Vit D? Then take a good look at cortisol levels and sex hormones.... sodium and potassium levels?

Grabbed these from your last post...

Recent results. Feeling worse still

TSH:1.1 (0.38-5.33) 14.55%

T4: 9.8 (7.90-14.40) 29.23%

T3: 5 (3.80-6.00) 54.55%

B12: 356 (133-675)

Ferritin: 42 (11.00-306.80) ….still working on this

Folate: 17. (3.10-19.90)

Vit D:126.1 (50.00-150.00)

Have you increased your T4 since these results? Added a bit more B12?

Staffsgirl profile image
Staffsgirl in reply to TiggerMe

Yes, and B12 now improved to 626. Ferritin improved to 73.

TiggerMe in reply to Staffsgirl

So maybe it's the low fT4 still causing the issue?

Thank you!

Have you tried breathwork? I know it sounds naff but there's loads of science behind it. :)

Oh yes! And I meditate regularly, do tai chi, and also use acupressure techniques.

It was "only" £199 in 2021. So the current £349 appears excessive - 175% of its original price.

USA sources appear less expensive.

Agree, although £349 version includes bells and whistles which I wouldn’t bother with.

I don't know anything about this device. I do know a simple measure that can help in the midst of anxiety.

Whichever hand is your less used hand, let's say for argument, your left hand. Turn your hand so the palm is upwards. With the thumb of your right hand, move it slowly around the centre of your left palm. Keep it slow :-) Should you notice you're moving it quicker...slow it down again. You should find your breathing slows in time with the slow movement of your right thumb.

Once you have "got this", you can do it anywhere, any time, and no one needs to see what you are doing.

It is much cheaper to use noise blocking earphones listening to whichever music that helps. I myself love Humpback Whales sounds as well as quranic verses over nature. All available via Spotify or you tube. The trick is to use them, and any method, consistently before you actually need it.

However, as said above, improving your thyroid levels ought to help anxiety symptoms.

Sensate vibrates.

HealthStarDust profile image

Sound vibrates.

Staffsgirl profile image
Staffsgirl in reply to HealthStarDust

This device sits on the chest, hence the vibrations are presumably more easily sensed.

HealthStarDust profile image
HealthStarDust in reply to Staffsgirl

Not so. The body is attuned at responding to the slightest vibrations, especially from sounds. The difference here is what one understands from the word sense. I think you are conflating easily detectable vibrations ie from a phone vibrating vs not so detectable ones from music.

A more powerful device at vibrating is really only useful in a small number of cases eg weight loss. And, in other cases, plain dangerous.

With the at said, I am open to ideas. Babies seem to love vibratoring seats, but then I think they are naturally relaxed anyway and recent research shows it’s actually not as safe as assumed and swing chairs are beater devices.

For now, I’m inclined to think this is an expensive gimmick.

You may well be right in saying it’s an expensive gimmick: hence my original post.

HealthStarDust profile image
HealthStarDust in reply to Staffsgirl

It’s interesting for sure.

I was thinking again about baby chairs and how many these days incorporate music too. I wondered if it’s the sound rather than the vibration that helps. And, massage chairs that have a vibration function seems to be relaxing too. This gimmick may work for many. Overall, I still think the same can be achieve much more cheaply and more effectively with other techniques.

In my many years of managing my own anxiety/stress, noise cancelling headphones with music/sounds, a sauna, and getting away, are the best at managing these. Lots of others too, like being in nature. Research grounding techniques that can easily be incorporated into everyday lives. They do make a massive difference.

Hope you work it out.

I use a vagus nerve stimulator which is slightly different to this device but works on the same principles. I have dysautonomia and it does help.

I have known of people using the Sensate, also a similar device the Zeez Pebble with success for relaxation.
