So have app with GP Tuesday 14th, to discuss results

Well went Monday (6th) had bloods taken, 08.15 following protocol seeing GP Tuesday to discuss them. Will ask tomorrow for print outs as per usual on My App no ranges, she asked for raft of tests , Anti CCP doesn't appear to have been done, lipids not done TSH and FT4 only no FT3.

Plasma TSH 0.01 , FT4 21.6, assume usual ranges but will check when get print outs noticed last 2 results from GP say plasma TSH previously serum does that make any difference?

CRP now 9mg/L , last from them 6mg/L , will add ranges of course when I get print outs.

I know there will be the ooh your overmedicated must reduce Levo conversation, my last BH results 10 th October TSH 0.02 0.27-4.2 FT4 17.9 12-22 FT3 4.55 3.1-6.8 .

Don't know why I posted this, just getting ready for next round of pulling hair out, which is getting bit thin, balding as is, least don't have to bother plucking eyebrows anymore

I should have looked at this previous post with results

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

So Ft4 is about spot on

Ft3 needs improving

Have you increased to 3 x 1/4 tablet T3 yet at roughly equal 8; hour intervals

Waking….mid afternoon and bedtime

Retest 8 weeks later

Which folate are you taking

Polo22 profile image
Polo22 in reply toSlowDragon

cross posted, it's taking me so long to type, have to keep stopping to wiggle hands cos it hurts. Now on 3x 1/4 tabs , roughly 8 hourly. the hours do wobble a little some times. not usually by too much. Can't remember how long been on 3 x have to check back. The folate is 600ug Quatrefolic (glucosamine salt of 5-MTHF brand Pharmanostix

Polo22 profile image
Polo22 in reply toSlowDragon

looking back it must have been then I upped to 3x1/4, so still early days I suppose

I take folate, b12 complex, vit d and vit k2 mk 7, selenium with vit C &E, Magnesium glycinate, take calcium and a zinc with added copper few times a week. Recently started some flax seed oil capsules, SI B12 twice a week. On 150 mcg levo Accord always same brand, taking Tiromel 25mcg tabs, 1/4 tab morning, late afternoon and at bed time.

Have informed GP surgery I SI B12, haven't yet told them I self medicate T3 guess that will be happening on Tuesday. The reason these bloods had been done were to try and check out if I have RA, I am in so much pain at the moment, mobility is rubbish , have difficulty with fine motor tasks, can't open tins jars, keep dropping things. Had to get dog clipped because I just can't groom her. my left heel is so painful I think it is enthesitis, they just keep saying tendonitis get on with it. Just fed up , tired and moany

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toPolo22

Heel pain frequently plantar fasciitis…..very common hypothyroid issue

healthunlocked.com/search/p...

Usually low vitamin D and/or low Ft3

Usually completely resolves once Ft3 /vitamin D are optimal

Your vitamin D is good…so just improving low Ft3

”She had said she would do full bloods but can't see a request for B12 and folate”

When a GP requests ‘full bloods’ it just means the standard blood count…red and white blood cells, etc.

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator

GP won’t like low TSH

But on almost any dose T3 most people will have very low or suppressed TSH

You may need to argue to hang on to your current dose levothyroxine

Polo22 profile image
Polo22 in reply toSlowDragon

Guess I'll have to box clever and try to educate her re T3 , have had plantar fasciitis in past R foot, this feels different, last time it was under heel/base of foot, this is back of heel , where tendon attaches to heel bone, it looks different/deformed bit swollen little tender to touch, not too bad but if I knock it , lots of swearing and crying, also random attacks of very sharp stabbing pains can be sitting not bothering anyone and yelp/shout arrgghh can't help it.

Polo22 profile image
Polo22 in reply toPolo22

feels really tight like it could snap, had achilles tendonitis many years ago R ankle , had injections, creams meds and eventually healed , took ages, this now is coming up for 2 years almost and has just got worse, did get sent to Foot and Ankle clinic, which was waste of time. Person just kept going on about moisturising my feet, talked to me like I was daft, I explained the very dry skin was down to thyroid problems and that I do moisturise he rolled his eyes, gave me a little stretchy sock thing that had a small pad under heel and discharged me. The skin on my feet is dry but on the left foot/heel is disgusting thick hard so dry it splits then takes months to heal. Currently avoiding the worst damage, with tons of creams foot baths, and the lovely electric file thingy, like an angle grinder for feet 🤭😜 it's not going away though, just not getting worse

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toPolo22

You should see dramatic improvement in dry skin once on high enough dose T3

Magnesium in bath or foot bath is great

Polo22 profile image
Polo22 in reply toSlowDragon

Yes I hope so I put some apple cider vinegar on feet, toe nails , give it half an hour then do foot bath with magnesium in for as long as I can get away with😜 then smother in coconut oil and put fluffy socks on. It has improved a bit but not enough.

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toPolo22

Doesn’t vinegar try skin out?

Polo22 profile image
Polo22 in reply toSlowDragon

mostly on nails, Gp told me a few , quite a few years ago I had fungal nail problem, ACV is much better at killing fungal infections than the very nasty chemical fungicides that they px for athletes foot/nail infections etc however think maybe that's another wrong dx, possibly psoriatic arthritis ?

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toPolo22

I still have two fungal nails on left foot

I am considering admitting defeat and going to chiropodist

Teatree supposed to be good but either I haven’t done it long enough or it doesn’t work for me

healthline.com/health/tea-t...

Polo22 profile image
Polo22 in reply toSlowDragon

I once had the stuff Doc gives nasty poison basically, used it for over a year little improvement. The ACV organic with the mother, cleared up that same nail in 4 -5 months, killed off the main offender, nail fell of and nice clear new nail grew back quite quickly. I file surface of nail and soak a cotton ball in the ACV soak nail a few times di it daily, when it was showing improvement did couple times a week. I think it takes a while and once it's gone just weekly to keep the bugger away.

thing is you need to kill off all the spores in your shoes socks etc or it's all in vain. you can get a powder does the trick but I think you can freeze shoes or use tea tree inside, smell better than the vinegar

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toPolo22

Good point….re the shoes

Polo22 in reply toSlowDragon

SlowDragon your right of course, she didn't like TSH, said we needed to reduce Levo, I refused , explained my T4 was good, I felt better at this level, explained that as I don't have a thyroid the HPT axis was open ended and not relevant, Blank face response, explained self medicating with T3, she was horrified, wanted to know how I sourced it, where and from whom, which was almost funny as she admitted she had never heard of T3 or what it does 🤯🤦‍♀️

SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toPolo22

😂😂😂

Polo22 profile image
Polo22 in reply toPolo22

SlowDragon she also said CRP at 9 ref (0-4) was fine , quite normal "nothing to see here" then trotted out the usual scare tactics about heart problems and osteoporosis , and even though I explained guidelines re hypo and statins tried to px them and wanted to px metformin, NO

suggest you point her to open prescribing website that shows 64,000 prescriptions for liothyronine in England in last year

No need to pluck eyebrows, as they are now coming out of my nose... Nearly dreadlocks!

Polo22 profile image
Polo22 in reply toserenfach

I am so glad I had eyebrows done , tattooed I think it's called, before they got too bad. The woman who did them was really good showed her how I wanted them, showed her a pic of how they used to be and she did them really well. I told her I didn't want a scouse brow look, if you know , you know.😂🫣😜 It's been a few years now and if it wasn't for them I'd look bald eyebrow wise
