Colonoscopy, fasting and levo

I’m having a colonoscopy tomorrow , arranged for 4.30pm if it goes according to schedule.

I’m fasting now except for clear fluids.

First dose of Plenvu laxative is at 7pm tonight, second dose is at 6am tomorrow.

Does it make any sense to give tomorrow morning’s levo a miss until the day after the procedure? It’s going to get whooshed straight out surely?

Thanks.

You could take it immediately after the procedure and then back to your normal schedule.

That makes sense. My heads all over the place just reading all the instructions etc.

Many thanks.

I did not have sedation and it was ok.

I had that procedure earlier this year. I took my Levo after the procedure. The staff were there with drinks as soon as I got into their recovery area (tho I didn’t need to ‘recover’ as was ready to get up and go!) and so taking Levo no problem. I’m sure you, too, will receive the same after care.

Thank you. I’ve had the procedure now, didn’t see your reply.

My doctor says I could take my Levo on that morning… I think it had to be a few hours before the procedure. I assumed it would be in my blood by then but never considered it would whoosh out lol! Also my appt was 9 am, so second dose of the prep was night before.

I also take it sublingual, but the doctor wouldn’t have known that.

Not sure what to recommend, but that’s what I did.
