Hello lovely people. Just a quick question. I’m presently undergoing tests for base of tongue cancer. I’ve had 2 u/s scans with fnb, a mri, a ct, a pet Ct and biopsy under GA. Results haven’t been helpful to rule anything in or out. I would like copies of the results how do I go about getting them please?

I'm afraid that you might have to request them from each establishment individually.

That is, if any of them were done in one place (such as a diagnostic centre) but others done in different places (e.g. a hospital), then it's possible you will have to ask each one for the results they found.

However, if they are are all under the same umbrella, a single request might suffice.

Maybe, on Monday, ring the relevant Patients Liaison Service (PALS) and ask for their help/guidance? They should at least know who to contact though they are very limited in what they can do.

Do you have a CD drive on your computer? I ask as the data might be offered in that form. Or a memory stick.

I'm quite sure that you really don't need problems put in the way of you getting hold of everything. Which is why I suggest that you ask for help - e.g. PALS.

Wishing you the best.

Thank you very much for your reply. Tests done at different places at the request of my consultant. I’m hopefully seeing him next Friday for results of mdt meeting. The nurse specialist is usually there so I may ask her. Again many thanks 🙏

Just ring each place and ask for the records department. They will probably send you a form so you can prove who you are, and someone else has to sign to say you are that person. Then they will send you the records, or an email link to the records. The link only works once so download everything. All this should be free but can take a few weeks.

I hope everything proves clear for you.
