Is Ashwagandha good or bad for hypo(hashis)??
The only thing that I notice when taking it is that I feel more sleepier in a morning! Is that a good or bad thing!?… it’s so hard knowing what I can and cannot take with this crappy condition! 😣😭

TO,
Well, it’s a calmer so obviously doing its job 😁. Perhaps try taking it at a different time?
Thanks for your reply iv been on it a couple of months now and take it in tablet form in a morning and the powder drink as in the picture on an evening…
The problem is I don’t know whether I’m doing more harm than good!? as read on here that it’s a night shade or something or other and an adaptogen and shouldn’t be taken with hashis! As can maybe lower cortisol 😫
ThyroidObsessed,
Adaptogens are meant to promote ‘balance’ within biochemical pathways depending on where your levels lie. They are never poisonous but can affect many different tissues and organs with the aim of adjusting to attain homeostasis but we all have different biochemical pathways and some things we simply can not tolerate.
I take mine when I feel stressed for a few weeks at a time and then have a break as any adaptogen can be very powerful. The Rheal drink would be fine taken continuously as the amount would be minimal but assuming your Ashwagandha tablet is of a usual dose, if this were me I would be taking it in a rotational fashion.
Ashwagandha is a nightshade ..... healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
I have just looked back at the link you provided and also at the Article by DR Hedburg, and iv decided I am going to carry on with the Rheal powder drink and stop the tablets as the Rheal already contains 500mg of the root extract… and I already take lots of vitamin supplements so prefer the drink form… i will finish the months supply tub and update on here whether it has been beneficial or not to maybe help other people decide to try it or not☺️
Thank you for your advice… I’m not sure I even need it, I’m currently trying to hit my sweet spot again with my levo.. which I think is causing anxiety at the minute… also I struggle each month with PMDD which I reckon is all linked…
The Rheal actually has 500mg in it!!
The tablet I take has 50mg so that’s 550mg a day I’m getting… I feel I have only got worse over these pass few months but I can never figure out the cause my thyroid levels are off at the minute so I’m gonna concentrate on getting my sweet spot again and also get my vitamin levels checked again see if any have dropped….
I think Ashwagandha is just as likely to lower cortisol as it is to raise it? So if you are feeling sleepy in the morning it would suggest it is lowering your cortisol too much, which isn't great for T4 uptake 🤗
My Sister was taking this and feels better without it and is a little richer
