Suppressed TSH Low T4

Hi all,

Looking for some advice. I am currently on T4 only due to being pregnant. Being on T4 only I am finding that while my T4 levels are low or only just in range my TSH is suppressed or under range. Luckily I have spoken to a consultant today who is increasing my T4 despite my TSH being suppressed but he seemed to think it was odd. I have had an under active thyroid for 15 years now and this has always been an issue for me and constant battle with GPs who want to reduce medicine based on TSH alone when my T4 levels are low and I still feel extremely I’ll still. When I do feel well and my T4 levels are good my TSH is very suppressed and the GPS don’t like it. Does anyone know why this could be happening or is my body just different? I can’t find anything online.

Thanks!

Sounds as if you have a sluggish pituitary. Such a pity that doctors haven't a clue about the pituitary and prefer to gaslight patients when they should be testing other pituitary hormones to find out what's going on!

Do you have a copy of your blood test results from when you were diagnosed?

Unfortunately not as I was young at the time and have moved GPs many times since then! But accessing as many as I can in recent years it’s the same storey
