Hi I'm wondering who can interpret my D102 test result from Regenerus Lab aside from an Endocrinologist. Would a functional Nutritionist be able to interpret it?
Many thanks in adcance

Regenerus offer this as a service

If you do not have one who you wish to receive the results, then we are able to allocate an independent practitioner to you who will be an experienced Nutritional Therapist suitably trained to translate the information and give you general guidance.
I doubt a nutritionist would have the knowledge to interpret the results of a genetic test!
Correctly it is Dio2 /DIO2 test ( 3 letters and one number) not D102 ( one letter and 3 numbers)
This should help you make sense of your results

The following explains why a homozygous result has greater impact on T4 to T3 conversion than a heterozygous result
If you are hoping to use the results to achieve a T3 prescription from an endo this difference may help

Looking at your earlier posts...
Are you still on 25mcg levo? If so, you are still undermedicated and initially need an increase to 50mcg which is normally the starter dose! You will need further increases and tests until you reach your therapeutic dose.
After 6/8 weeks on a steady dose, test again. The results will point the way forward.
Your medics don't sound well informed re thyroid disease
Depression and anxiety are text book symptoms of hypothyroidism
You need to get your thyroid hormone levels adequate for you as an individual and to optimise vitD, vit B12 folate and ferritin to support thyroid function.
A gluten free diet should help Hashi's....has this been advised?

I done the test for my own personal information purposes
Yes, I did that too......we all want to be better informed....knowledge is power!!
Hope you find Paul Robinson's article useful.....he refers to Regenerus
He explains things in an easy to understand way
Patients are required to have a source of genetic counselling/advice before results are issued hence the request for a Practitioner...
You are entitled to request a copy of the results from the Practitioner
Post any results and members will advise
Hollybushroad,
What are your results?
Many on here have had the DIO2 test and are familiar with the possible outcomes.
Hi RaddUnfortunately Regenerus only send the results directly to a Practitioner so therefore I wouldn't have the details to post on forum. I was unaware of their protocol when I ordered the test.
They have informed me my results are ready but are asking for a named practitioner to send results to. I'm not sure why they can't send results directly to myself??
Hollybushroad,
Oh, I see. Then what I think what you need to do is ask Thyroid UK if you can name them on a Regenerus test.
What happens with a Genova test is we name name Thyroid UK in association with Melissa Cohen (Registered Nutritional Therapist) as the practitioner (you don't have to use Melissa's services).
Then when they receive your test results they will send it to you via email after you have filled in this form ... thyroiduk.org/about-thyroid...
