Hi,
Please could some help me interpret my Husband's blood test results from a few months back? He has been told he has Sarcoidosis, but I'm not convinced he's not Hyperthyroid-y too.
Thanks in advance.

franniebabes HypERthyroid? Over active? That would mean TSH below range and FT4 over range.
FT4 is 12.6 (8-16) so just about half way through it's range
TSH is 1.38 (0.54-4.25)
This result shows neither hypERthyroid nor hypOthyroid.
What makes you think he is hypERthyroid? What are his symptoms?
Thanks for your reply.
He is constantly eating & hungry, but can't gain weight. Constant fatigue. Dizziness. Shakes at times. Forgetful. Hates extremes of hot or cold. To name but a few.
Has the GP carried out any other tests? The TSH and FT4 appear to rule out any thyroid problem but it would be worth asking for FT3 (which I doubt will be done as the other results don't warrant it as far as the lab is concerned), also thyroid antibodies.
Further investigation by your GP really is needed. Dizziness and shakes - ask for B12 to be tested. Constant fatigue - ask for a full iron panel.
how above glucose and HBA1C?
Thanks for your replies. He hasn't had many other tests. Just for liver and a bone profile. I will send him back for more tests. Thanks again.
That's fascinating Sandy12. I didn't know that. I will look into that further myself.
