Hi connieblackburn, welcome to the forum.
To be able to interpret your blood test results we would need to have the ranges (in brackets after the result) which vary from lab to lab. And, we need to know if you already have a hypo diagnosis or are trying to get one. If taking thyroid hormone replacement, which one and how much?
Hi ! Thank you!
The ranges are TSH 0.27-4.20
Free t4 12-22
free t3 3.1-6.8
I’m trying to get a hypo diagnosis as I have all the symptoms
Well, I very much doubt that you'll get one with those results. Your FT4 is only 24.00% through the range - should be around 50%. And your FT3 35.14% - which is better, but not good. Should be just a bit lower than the FT4 percentage. But, the problem is, as far as doctor are concerned, who know nothing about thyroid: your TSH is below 1. And, ignorant as they are, they're more likely to 'diagnose' you with 'sub-clinical hyperthyroidism'. Which, of course, is rubbish. But they don't know that. They like the TSH to be at least over the top of the range, or better still, over 10!
What time of day was the blood draw? Were antibodies tested?
Yes I had my antibodies tested which came back as anti tpo <4 (range <25) and anti tg <12 (range <40) which I think is normal
I’m not 100% sure the time of day but think it was in the morning
Ok, so in that case, it rather looks like a pituitary problem, rather than a thyroid problem. Certainly your Frees are low enough to cause symptoms, but doctors tend to only go by the TSH. The vast majority have never even heard of pituitary problems - Central Hypo! So, although you could really do with some thyroid hormone replacement, you're going to have a hard time getting it until one of your Frees goes under-range. Or, put up a new post asking if anybody can recommend a private endo/GP that knows about pituitary problems.
Thank you so much for replying so quickly I really appreciate it so much! I will try and find a private endo
Very important to test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin levels too
Have you had these tested?
