help with my auntie’s results

I asked her daughter if she would get a print out of her results they have only done TSH which was

2-14 (0.3-4.2) serum vitamin b12 400 (197 -0-771.0) serum folate 5.3(3) , I think she’s only on a starter dose could you please give some feed back thankyou so much , she is 84 years old

obviously she needs to get TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested

Plus thyroid antibodies if never been tested

No vitamin D or ferritin results either

Once she has results, suggest you help her set up her own account on here

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
