Hi all you lovely people, hope you are doing well. Please see my previous posts. The latest results of test done on 21/8 showed TSH 0.03 which is the same as before and I had reduced the dose from 100 to 100/75. I have now reduced to 75 since 28/8. I can only surmise that my vitamin levels are now optimal. I would really appreciate your opinions.

Just testing TSH is completely inadequate
Many members have similar low TSH when correctly treated
Are you only taking levothyroxine or also taking T3
Suggest you get FULL testing before changing dose
all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
On T3 - day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day with last dose 8-12 hours before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Thanks for your quick response SD. Sorry I didn't add the full results which are TSH 0.03 (0.38-5.35 mu/L). FT3 5.7 (3.8-6.2 pmo/L) FT4 16.3. (7.9-14.4 pmol/L).I am only taking Levo
Was test done early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
FT4: 16.3 pmol/l (Range 7.9 - 14.4)
Ft4 over range 129.23%
FT3: 5.7 pmol/l (Range 3.8 - 6.2)
Ft3 79.17% through range
So yes you do appear to be over medicated
Which brand is 75mcg levothyroxine
Retest 6-8 weeks after being on 75mcg daily
Definitely test vitamin levels at next test
Just to clarify, I got latest thyroid test after dose decrease and brand change Mercury Pharma 50 & Wockhardt 25.
So how long had you been on 75mcg
What are your vitamin levels
There’s nothing on your profile
Presumably you have Hashimoto’s?
This could possibly be a temporary Hashimoto flare
Try reducing to 67.5mcg daily
You have IBS
Are you on gluten free or dairy free diet
Approximately how much do you weigh
I have just updated my profile, have been taking 75mcg since I got the test results 5 days ago and I haven't had my vitamins levels checked since my previous post, I am not gluten free but I am dairy free.
I weigh 62 kgs
Guidelines on dose is approximately 1.6mcg Levo per kilo of your weight per day
62kg x 1.6mcg = 99mcg
Some people need less, some need more than guidelines
So you may find this recent reduction is a temporary hashimoto’s flare and you may need to increase again in few weeks/months
Retest in another 2 months
