alternating amount of meds question

Is anyone else doing the things where they take extra medication 2 days a week. I'm on 120 armour and I'm splitting a pill between two days.. The days I have the extra I feel like I'm too energetic let's say and the days when I don't I'm kind of tired.. Should I split the pill between 4 days? The problem was I needed a bit more medication and armor jumps from 120 to 180

Hello Tresa :

With any thyroid hormone replacement containing T3 it is essential that you take the same dose every day.

Armour make 15 mg 1/4 grain tablets as well as 30 mg 1/2 grain tablets and then 60mg - 1 grain tablets : 1+1/2 grains and then 2/3/4/ up to a 5 grain tablet.

So I don't understand why you can't source these options ?

You need to take the same dose of armour each day .With oral t4 such as synthroid or levothyroxine you can vary the daily dose as it is a storage hormone

With oral t3 such as liothyronine or NDT such as armour you need to take the same dose each day as it is used by the body in a different manner.

if your doctor thinks it’s ok to take different doses of NDT on different days you need a new doctor

It’s ESSENTIAL to always take exactly same dose T3 every day

You must take the same dose everyday. The trouble with Armour is the fact that you cannot cut it easily, it just crumbles to pieces. You can buy smaller amounts perhaps work out the difference and do it that way. You may require around 90 or100 per day, everyday.
