alternating Levo dosage

hello,

I definitely felt hyper on 100mcg, and had recent bloods showing (it was with GP so they didn’t do T3 annoyingly but I plan to do this privately once I feel more stable):

TSH 0.15 (0.27-4.2)

T4 24.6 (12-22)

GP has suggested I take 100mcg Monday-Wednesday and 75mcg Thursday-Sunday and retest in 3months.

Will this make me feel rough as the higher doses are all grouped together in 3 days and the lower all together in 4 days?

Possibly not as Levo is a storage hormone rather than a quick acting one. However, why not alternate 100/75 if you think that might be easier/smoother?

Your GP is proposing 3 x 100 and 4 x 75 = 600mcg per week averaging 85.71mcg daily. If you alternate 100/75 you get 87.5mcg daily.

Some people don't notice if they take different doses on different days , but some find it makes them feel a bit off/ unsettled (i do )

yes it is a bit odd to ask you to do it that way, it is more usual to prescribe 87.5mcg as 75mcg / 100mcg on alternate days , rather than grouping them all together.

and for people who prefer to take exactly the same dose each day they can prescribe it all in 50's and 25's so the patient can cut a 25 in half to get 87.5mcg every day.

Try it as suggested by GP , you may well be fine ... but if not, spread them out more evenly . and / or take same dose each day .

that makes sense. I am super sensitive to medication, so it may well affect me. Many thanks
