The following is an investigation of the relationship between thyroid and cardiac function. It consists of 12 papers + an editorial. It's in Frontiers Endocrinology and downloadable in total.
Thankyou Diogenes. Interesting read.I'm glad they acknowledge the heart risk for under treatment too... which is rarely stated.
As someone who has long term cardiotoxicity from chemo I can't say I'm thrilled at the idea of thyroid specialists getting involved with cardiologists just because there is this mistaken idea that far less thyroid hormone treatment is better.
Optimum is best.
It would be good also if they looked at the treatment they use to manage Afib. One of their primary drug groups is beta blockers. A complete disaster for me causing palpitations but thankfully they've stopped pursuing this treatment line. But it took sometime!
I am in the process of collecting similar pieces of research etc. There has been so much ‘known’ about this but certainly my Gp practice and cardiologist and endocrinologist are all pretending it does not matter/do not believe me/don’t care a fig. So thank you for adding to my pile!
They simply don't give a damn... can't tell sh*t from clay in any event and simply don't want the hassle. After all the more related illnesses we get, they longer they and their fellows are in work - perpetual motion! xox
Yes they dont do illness prevention nor have the skills, training and qualifications to. But, if theres a big enough market and they have relevant drug(s). thats entirely different!
