Hi, I'm off to Krakow tomorrow for dental work and suddenly wondered if T3 is available in Poland and if so, if otc? What would it be called. I have tried doing a search but found nothing. Thanks.
T3 in Poland?: Hi, I'm off to Krakow tomorrow for... - Thyroid UK
T3 in Poland?
I've not heard that it is but I'm sure if you take a snapshot of it and show it to the pharmacist they'll let you know 😊 good luck with the dental work ... I'll go down that route when I next need something done as prices have gotten stupid here and I see a good dentist in Chester but his check up no longer even includes a clean ..book the hygienist at £60 😟
I just paid £155 for a filling, I don’t know if it was because it was a Saturday morning but that was the only appointment there was.
My last hygienist visit cost me £100! I was appalled. This is my third visit- should have returned summer 2020 for implants to be finally fitted.
Dentistry very expensive in UK!
Message me if you want information. The dental surgery I go to employs an Irishman as a link. I message him when I’m coming over and he books my appointment, takes me for blood tests (needed before the waking sedation) etc. very useful.
Hi there
Good luck with your next round of treatment in Poland. I’m guessing you like the way they work too and not just the price. Is that the case? Would very much like the details please because I’ve been considering for years getting my final mercury amalgam filling removed as well as other dental work
Ironically, it was a Polish dentist who removed some about 20 years ago and not long after that I started getting strange symptoms and I now believe that it’s quite possible it triggered Hashimoto’s
Back then I had no idea it was dangerous to just remove mercury fillings without a before and after protocol and it seems nor did my dentist and even if she did know, apparently dentists don’t believe mercury fillings are dangerous in the first place so why would they take special care when removing them!
Anyway, it would be nice to have find a good, competent, reasonably priced dentist for the family which includes a few days in Krakow
My medicines document would include it if I had ever found a T3 product in Poland. But I haven't.
However, Polish language websites are not easy to navigate so it could easily be that I have simply not managed to find any.
I'd not be surprised if they used Thybon Henning - if ever it is prescribed.
My previous experience of discussing with former residents (Russia, Lithuania) suggests that former eastern bloc countries are sometimes at least as strict about medicines, prescriptions, etc., as the UK.
helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.
This link takes you to a page which has direct links to the documents from Dropbox and Google Drive, and QR codes to make it easy to access from phones.
The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrix for tablets, oral solutions and liothyronine available in the UK.

Thanks Helvella, I have seen your amazing document before but couldn’t remember link. Will feed back what pharmacies say!
Novorthyral made by Merck pharmaceuticals in Switzerland is sold in Poland.
This is what it looks like:
compendium.ch/fr/product/in...
Do you need a prescription? I don't know.
Novothyral isn't T3/liothyronine.
It is a combination product containing 75 levothyroxine and 15 liothyronine, or 100 levothyroxine and 20 liothyronine.
And, while the information sheet refers to Switzerland, I suspect it is manufactured in Germany.
Further information, in German:
I live in Poland. Unfortunately, you can legally buy T3 here in the pharmacy in the preparation Novothyral (T4 + T3).
thank you Magdas
I also live in Poland and Magda reply is the first I've heard of that product. I can ask my endo next time I see her. As far as I know, not not available here either. I recall reading g a couple of years ago when I was still in UK about a practice or pharmacy on the German border, probably Gorzelec (Goerlitz) where one could get a prescription for t3 and fill it across the border. T4 is as usual the reigning treatment. 😕
Well, I was told that thyroid medication is only available with a prescription. I'm afraid I didn't ask what that would be. Not much of an update - I spent a lot of time in the dentists or in the shade somewhere.
I can recommend a good doctor in Krakow who is open to other than standard treatment
