headaches an hour after taking Levothyroxine

This is so debilitating - it's migraine-like (i.e. visuals and strange sensation) and lasts all-day.

I've been ok-ish on the Levothyroxine (not super-well but getting by) but this is too much. I also have diarrhoea every day after taking it but I've always had that with the Levo.

I take the Levothyroxine at 6am with a big glass of water and half an hour later have a cup of tea with oat milk. I don't eat anything or take any other meds for a couple of hours after that.

When last tested my T4/T3 were a little low (halfway through range rather than 75% as previously) but TSH was hovering on normal/suppressed, so not elevated.

I think it's to do with the Levo or the way I'm taking it because it's the same most days. (It's Accord btw)

I just feel like not taking it tbh and I have done that a couple of times when feeling desperately ill and hey presto - no headache.

How much levothyroxine are you taking

Last post 6 months ago it was suggested you reduce dose a little

Did you stay on 100mcg daily or did you reduce to 75mcg and 100mcg alternate days

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

msmono, I found my visual migraines stopped when I started split dosing my levo. Since then, I've always taken levo in two separate doses.

Oh thanks for this - I was wondering about trying that it even taking it at night.

Maybe trial taking Levo at bedtime to see how you react. Your stomach has to be empty so should have eaten about 2 hours before. The following is a link that may be helpful:-
