Anxiety help

I have Hashies but am not currently on Levo. I’m working with PALS to try and persuade my Dr but that’s another story !! I’m suffering with a lot of anxiety, my throat feels tight, breathing is not very full and up in the chest. Just generally feel restricted in the chest ( no asthma ). Any suggestions as to how to relax as I’m getting myself worked up that there’s something wrong.

Anxiety is very common hypothyroid symptom

Have you looked at list of recommended thyroid specialists in link I gave you in previous post

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Do you do yoga

The exercise and especially the breathing can help calm you down

Thanks for your help again 🙂 I did look though that list but I'm currently waiting on PALS to see if my doctor can be prevailed upon to do the right thing and prescribe them to me again !! I do Pilates but it's the breathing I find difficult if that doesn't sound daft. My breathing is shallow. I'm trying meditation but sometimes I just get a bit panicked. I've also got a lot of digestive issues including a lot of bloating which I know can cause tightness in chest. If I could sort out the bloating, gas and constipation I'd be much happier. Working on it but so far not much success.

I hope someone has told you what a godsend this is, having people to help and advice, I am very grateful. I have been 100% gluten free and mostly dairy free since being diagnosed with Hashies. I'm working with a naturopath who is really helpful. I once disagreed with my doctor as she recommended PPI's for my digestive issues and couldn't understand me when I said I thought it was more likely low stomach acid and refused the PPI's 😂 I'll have a look though so the information, thank you.

A good quality CBD. If new to it, I suggest Jacob and Huey from Holland and Barrett and start at the lowest dose. And, google grounding techniques until you find the ones that work for you.

Hello. I've tried CBD oil and it doesn't seem to make any difference even when I increased the dose. I tried Jacob Huey and a couple of other good brands but nothing. Perhaps I'll try again. Thanks for the suggestion 🙏

Might need a stronger dose. Some work best for pain, others for anxiety. It’s very individual.

Always read the reviews because there are much better brands that Jacob Huey. But, it is good for beginners.

If you’ve not tried Vitality that’s been good for anxiety for many. You can buy it from Amazon.

But, mostly, allow yourself the anxiety and remind yourself it will pass. That in itself helps you carry on.

Wishing you well. I know how debilitating it is.

It just gets scary when I feel the tightness in my throat and my breathing is shallow. I'll try the CBD along with meditation and I'm going to look into grounding techniques. I really appreciate your help 😊

You are more than welcome. A good grounding technique is plunging your hands including wrists in a bowl of cold water. Or running your wrists under cold water from the taps.

And, generally, grounding techniques are more a way of life for managing anxiety when practiced daily not just when you need a rescue. Over time, they work incredibly well for coping with anxiety.

Medication could be helpful, spending on you feel about it (most are addictive but can be used sensibly if aware) and speak to the GP about that.

Oh… get yourself some ANC earphones to listening to calming type sounds. Try all sorts but just typical meditation stuff as what works for you in a given moment will be variable.

And, my final tip, I have no idea why this works, but watching an animated Disney film works! You’ll just to try it to believe me. And, for some bizarre reason Steptoe and Son.

Your post touched me as there were many days I felt like that. Hang in there.

I think we speak the same language, even though I'm in my late fifties I love Disney and any excuse to watch a film I'm in 😂 I'm not one for conventional medicine, hence the naturopath but will give CBD a try, I've found some in my cupboard so I'm going to start on it today. Thanks again, you've been a huge help 🌞💕
