Your initial question prompts me to ask if you have cirrhosis?? It is a serious condition which I think needs professional medical help. For less serious liver disease I can comment from my own experience as I had a scan recently which showed 3 benign liver cysts.
I have been on a combination of T4 and T3 for over 20 years as I had various problems on T4 alone. I did try Armour NDT briefly once but that did not suit. So it is most likely that my conversion from T4 to T3 has never been that good - I do not think that my liver function is optimal either.
Studies have shown that most of the conversion of T4 to T3 occurs in the liver. So you could well benefit from taking a combination of T4 and T3 if you have a liver problem and have not found taking T4/Synthyroid has suited you. You shall have to see how you get on with Thyro-Gold and make sure it is working with blood tests. One snag with T-Gold is that the amount of T4 and T3 per capsule is not stated. I did a search on the Health unlocked posts for T-Gold and one a year ago had mixed reviews - other members comments are worth checking out!
The combo treatment initially meant that I had less insomnia and period problems than I had on T4 alone. Recently I had poor thyroid control, helped by upping my T3 and reducing my T4. We all have different stories to tell about our symptoms prior to treatment and our response to medication so my problems probably do not tie in with yours. In general you will probably know what makes you feel better you but do keep a check with blood tests.
