Hello again ;

Did you manage to find out if RFA was available in Spain ?

Have the headaches always been there, after taking the Carbimazole ?

There is another AT drug - Propylthiouracil usually referred to as PTU for ease of speech :

I know your medical appointments are likely stressful as you are not wanting the definitive RAI treatment that is being suggested by the medical mainstream.

As for the ' headaches ' - it's an issue I don't have much experience on - so I'm sorry but can't really help there.

Thank you,pennyannie!

I still did not have the info about RFA.

Last summer I refused to do RAI treatment and now this summer I feel miserable:high BP jumping up and down, splitting headaches, very strong pain in the legs after 10 min walking and swollen ankles(never happened to me before). I stopped and resume taking carbimazol last month .For the headaches the doctor prescribed me to take metamizol .And still I do not feel good.I am planning to see the other endocrinologist, maybe to find the other way of treatment though none of the treatment give 100%of relieve, as I can understand.

I can't help with a specific remedy but making sure you are properly hydrated can be helpful - try to drink things like cammomile tea (a bitter herb that will assist your liver to deal with everything) - A Vogel Milk Thistle Complex drops should also help.

Hello there, I have been treated for graves disease.I took carbimazole in the past but I can't say it gave me headaches.The time I got headaches was when my T4 levels were over range.Sometimes this was only slightly high.I ended up having a migraine every week for 5 weeks.I started proprananol 20mg 3x per day and that helped so much.In fact I am still on it as a migraine preventative.I have had migraines since I was a teenager but the hyperthyroidism caused them to come back with avengence.The proprananol slowed me down(heartrate,anxiety,jitters etc) and that helped the headaches.Hope this helps.

Thank you,Cavapoochonower!

The headache usually starts couple of hours after I take carbimazol. Its different from other kinds of headaches and the doctor prescribed me metamizol which helps me but still I do not feel good. I also take propranolol for tachycardia and to lower BP but not every day only when I have symptoms 10 mg X 2 times
