High Midday Cortisol. Advice?

My cortisol saliva test showed elevated midday cortisol levels, what does this mean and how can I reduce it? Feeling a lot of anxiety and general restlessness. These results were 2 weeks ago, I started T4 and T3 medication this week. Will this naturally bring cortisol back within range?

Results:

Waking: 15.5nmol/L (Range <20.3)

Midday: 7.57 nmol/L (Range 1.6 to 5.6nmol/L)

4pm - 6.02nmol/L (Range (6.94nmol/L)

Before bed: 3.05nmol/L (Range <7.56)

Appreciate any help. Thanks very much.

Hi Notion88 .I don't have advice for you unfortunately, but I also did a cortisol test last month and the results were so similar! Normal, except for the midday one that was a bit elevated.

Which lab did your test? The ranges aren't very helpful. Ranges really should have a lower and upper number.

Optimal levels according to rt3-adrenals.org/cortisol_t... are:

• Morning at the top of the range

• Noon approximately 75% of the range

• Evening close to 50% of the range

• Nighttime at the bottom of the range

So your waking level seems to be fairly OK, your midday and 4pm levels are both way too high, and you really need a lower number for the bedtime range to see if you are achieving the bottom of range that is desirable.

Only Regenerus and Genova Diagnostics, as far as I know, have proper ranges, and they also test DHEA which is important in determining stages of adrenal fatigue, other labs don't include DHEA.
