LOTS OF RED MARKERS

Had private thyroid test today from one day tests and the results are above. Seeing GP Wednesday but not holding out much hope.

Please can you help with the readings.

Thank you.

You have posted the other results in another post. The effect of that is to split replies - as well as making it more difficult for members to view both sets of results.

It is far better to reply to your own post and add the other results here. If possible, could you rotate the image before adding?

I have turned off replying to the other post in an attempt to avoid getting split replies.

Could you also add your country to your profile?

What dose are you on now and when did you take last Levo before the test?

Did you stop any biotin containing supplements before the test?

Your FT3 is below range so clearly a poor converter. You can email info@thyroiduk.org for a list of T3 friendly Endo's. If you can go privately it is often simpler.

What vitamin supplements are you taking?

Are you supplementing D3 +K2?

Your B12 could be a little higher but it depends if you are already supplementing and when you stopped the supplement if you might need a bit more.

I take 75mg levothyroxine. I did take it before 6am this morning totally forgot about not taking it before test plus their instructions just said drink water. The only supplements I take are omega 3 zinc glucosamine and calcium/vit d. Haven't taken them since Friday.

Taking Levo a few hours before the test will affect the FT4 so that might have been in range had you timed it for 24hrs. It wouldn't affect TSH though.

You would likely benefit from adding a good methyl/active B complex to your vitamins. This B complex has all the right vitamins at a not unreasonable cost for 90 days supply. amazon.co.uk/Liposomal-Soft...

You've probably given Levo a long enough run though.

I was so mad with myself for taking the levo it was just automatic when I was still half asleep! I shall make an appointment with endocrinologist abd order the vit B's. Thank you.

Are you now absolutely strictly gluten free

Oraney profile image
Oraney in reply toSlowDragon

Yes I've gone gluten/diary free since last week. Having ibs symptons though, although the fexofenadine I've been taking for itching can have these side effects so I've stopped it.

Likely to see TPO antibodies drop slowly on GF and dairy free

Difficult to say how poor your conversion rate is as Ft4 is falsely high having taken levothyroxine before test

In future……move/hide your levothyroxine well away night before test so you don’t take by mistake

Adding daily vitamin B complex will improve low folate and B12

No vitamin D test result

When was vitamin D last tested

Retest TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 2-3 months later

Likely to benefit from addition of small doses of T3 prescribed alongside levothyroxine

Vitamin D was tested nearly 2 yrs ago. This test didn't include it. Shall retest in a couple of months unless GP does it.

What was last vitamin D result

How much vitamin D are you taking

Test at least annually, ideally twice year

May need higher dose in winter than summer

Oraney in reply toSlowDragon

It was tested November 21 it was 95.60. I take calcichew D3 forte 500mg/409iu prescribed from Dr. One day tests have offered me a free retest which is good of them.
