I recently had my thyroid blood test at the hospital so don’t have the ranges but am in the uk and I have asked but haven’t had a copy
My TSH is back in range 2.17 I know levels are 0.04-4 he told me my RT3 was 8.6 and said this was fine. I am still putting on weight have tiredness issues , am on T3 only as I don’t take Levo T4 didn’t register
Is that RT3 where it should be don’t understand it really and with brain fog at times seem not to take it in.

rT3 is a red herring. It doesn't do anything. It is just a sort of over-flow for excess T4 so that you don't end up with too much T3. There's a range, but it doesn't really matter where it is in the range - or even over it.
There are many, many causes of rT3, and only one of them has anything to do with thyroid, and that's when the FT4 is too high. If you don't take any T4 then it's hardly likely to be your case. T3 cannot become rT3.
I'm amazed the hospital tested for it! More important is your FT3. Did they test that? If your TSH is 2.17 - which is much too high for someone on T3 only - then I imagine that your FT3 is pretty low. So that would be why you're putting on weight and have brain fog. Are you sure the doctor said rT3 and not FT3?
