swellings

I had doctors yesterday to check my goitre which she said she can no longer feel. But just above my left collar bone I have a swelling, which the doctor did see and feel and just shrugged off. Is swellings Normal around this area with UAT? Or should I see another doctor?

Yes

Have you had ultrasound scan done yet?

If not, request GP organise one

No, when I first see doctor for goitre she wanted to recheck after bloods 6 weeks later. But couldn’t get appointment with same doctor to check again. This doctor was quite useless I thought with having a goitre and now a swelling they would request for a scan but she wasn’t bothered. Going to contact docs Monday to try get scan done.

The doctor does not sound satisfactory. When I had a goitre, the GP wanted to see me the same day (because he was worried about cancer). I put it off for two days and he then requested an urgent ultrasound. Once it was identified as thyroiditis and a goitre, I saw a specialist privately. The GP is not allowed to prescribe thyroxine unless the TSH is above 10 on directions from the NHS lab. He said the practice had a lot of patients with raised TSH and they could not prescribe it. Once the private specialist prescribed it, the GP practice was willing to let me have it via the surgery.

well this is what I thought if have a goitre and the. Various other swellings around neck/neck line they would want a scan. But totally agree she was by far the worse GP I have seen since being diagnosed. Will try get another appointment next week. X

I have them too, (the collar bone dip swellings) they appeared when I was quite hypo and haven’t budged … both GP and 2 ENTs shrugged and said nothing to worry about, normal 😐

annoying isn’t it… 🤔

yes it is, I only have on one side tho! Because it’s not a lump only a swelling doctor was not fazed. She just said no lumps fine.
