Hi, can someone just confirm this for me, I'm quite sure I'm reading it right from reading P Robinson's blog and others posts on here but wanted to double check. I've just searched my 23andme data.
AA in this gene means homozygous and is the risk gene, is that correct? As opposed to the C allele which boosts Dio1 expression.
Thanks.

He seems to say T or A is the risk gene, ie the allele connected with impaired conversion, whereas C is the allele where Dio1 is boosted. So AA should be the 'poor' gene inherited from both parents. It may not be that Selfdecode is incorrect, but I think they use different letters to mean different things depending on the provider.
