I usually just update my documents as and when I get information but don't post about them.

This time, though, a new liothyronine product has been added, from Strides Pharma UK Ltd., and in 5 and 20 microgram tablets. Actual availability - and pricing information - is not yet available.

helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.

The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrix for tablets, oral solutions and liothyronine available in the UK.

Just heard from Stride Pharma:

These are expected to land in the UK in approximately 2 weeks

We generally supply to most of the wholesalers in UK however most likely your stock will come from the 3 big wholesalers AAH, Alliance and/or Phoenix

Our pricing will be in line with that of the NHS listed drug tariff price

Thanks for the update. Is this the brand that was confusing everyone by saying they were the only supplier of T3 in the UK back along only for them to say they were the only approved ones to use a new Swiss T3 manufacturer?

Afraid I either don't know what you are referring to - or have forgotten!

Can you be more specific?

I suspect the product is physically manufactured in India or Italy. But I have no evidence.

Strides UK website was failing yesterday - it's OK now. Looks like it must be manufactured in India or, just possibly, Singapore.

Oh dear, if you can’t remember then there’s no hope for me 😱 it must have been not long after the Roma capsules were first mentioned, about 2 years or so. I can’t remember if I posted a reply so will have to do some detective work 😁

Thanks for additional info - possibly not the same company. The one I remember said they had the exclusive rights to T3 in UK but then had to clarify that it only referred to the new Swiss product. I’ll keep looking later.

Thank You for posting this information about Strides Pharma UK Ltd Liothyronine. I've just been issued these today instead of Morningside or the most recent substitute Viatris.

I mentioned to the pharmacist I'd never seen or heard of Strides Pharma Liothyronine before & she said it was the only one available from their supplier. I've found Viatris T3 to work just as well as Morningside T3 so I'm going to start my first pack of Strides tomorrow. I'm on T3 only 20mcg Three tablets a day so I'll know within 20 minutes if they are ok or not! Thank You for posting the Strides T3 information
