I know that biotin can mess up the blood test results....so I have been avoiding supplaments with it in.
But from Graves Disease + silent acid reflux I have to regain weight ...lost loads ....making me even more prone to infection ....and I am asthmatic ....so I really do need the supplements to regain weight and help me stay well.
Gp advised multi vitamins and Complan to help boost intake....but both carry biotin...many off the shelf and cheap vitamins have biotin.
But I have ready that biotin leaves the body after only a few hours.
So can I take all my supplaments but just stop say a few days before my blood tests ?
Any thoughts welcome please.
Many thanks

Yes - there is no problem, in general, with biotin.
Indeed, the issue with biotin affecting blood tests was identified in people taking gargantuan doses - like 75 to 300 milligrams. Usually in relation to another disease like multiple sclerosis.
Ordinary dietary intake has never been shown to have an impact on tests. Our daily requirement is usually said to be around 35 micrograms a day.
Most ordinary supplements like multivitamins contain less than 1 milligram - which would be about thirty times what we need! At that level, maybe a day or two without would be fine.
Thank you - that makes sense ... and is reassuring ... especially as I was more worried about not getting my right nutrition on top of everything else! More likely 😀😀to end up dropping dead from malnutrition! Da 😀🤣
