I'm prescribed liothyronine on the NHS, but recently I've been exhausted. I've gone back to the stuff I bought and guess what - at the same dose I'm great again. Has anyone ever had this happen before? My dd tells me that the NHS stuff should work better because it's a chemical derived from human cells (or something like that) whereas the stuff I bought is derived from pigs.

If that is correct then what you bought wasn't liothyronine but NDT - natural desiccated thyroid - which contains both T4 and T3. What was the name of the product you bought that is derived from pigs.
