Problem with EBV

Hi all I have active EBV, but I can't take Lysine because it reduces my sleep-5,6 hours and I sleep very poorly by waking up several times during the night. My question is, is there anything else that can successfully replace Lysine. I've tried taking Valtrex, but I'm even worse off it, because it's an immunostimulant maybe. Liquorice also doesn't work well, because it raises my blood pressure a lot. Thank you!

Poliin, I assume you mean you have Epstein-Barr Virus?

' I can't take Lysine because it reduces my sleep-5,6 hours '

What is the lysine for?

I wanted to reduce the copies of the virus

Ah ok, well I know nothing about 'reducing copies of the virus' :) I was always under the impression that there's no treatement for EBV and it eventually goes away on its own.

But this is a thyroid forum, not an EBV forum 😊

I apologize for the inappropriate question, but the EBV is related to Hashimoto's, so I thought I could ask here. Sorry again.

No apology necessary, it's simply that most here won't know much if anything about reducing copies of the EB Virus. We're mostly concerned with the treatment of thyroid disorders themselves, not the possible causes of autoimmune disease. 😊

For me this is part of the healing, because I have done something else that needs to be done, such as taking t3, t4, creeping all the defectites and many other things, only this remained as a problem that I can not solve and sabotages my recovery, but anyway, I will think of something else. Have a nice evening.

I think this a very valid question and I for one am extremely interested in the root causes of hashimotos- understanding the root causes for some enables them to reverse it.

Epstein Barr along with Yersinia are both believed to be viral triggers for Hashimotos. If you are struggling with lysine try humid acid or lauricidin.

Lauricidin: Lauricidin is used to treat infections including the cold, the flu, herpes, and EBV. It helps to boost your immune system and combat chronic fatigue syndrome. Start with ¼ teaspoon 2 – 3 times a day working up to 1 teaspoon 2 – 3 times a day.

Humic Acid: Humic acid can fuel your body with an abundance of minerals and fight viruses effectively.11 Start with 1 capsule (750 mg) twice a day working up to 2 capsules (1500 mg) twice a day.

Good luck!

If someone wants to take X but X interferes with their sleep, the very first thing they should try is to take X several hours earlier or later than they've been taking it previously.

Yes, it is. It is taken 3 times a day, but I tried to take it only in the morning one dose, and yet I can not sleep from it. I'm not imagining it, I've tried it a few times. There should be other things I guess about this problem.

I wasn't suggesting that you were imagining it.

For example, some people take T3 at bedtime because it helps them to sleep. But for me and some others, it keeps me awake so I take it when I wake up.

Sure, no problem.

When I had EBV years ago, I took monolaurin or monolauric acid ( maybe same as lauricidin?), plus consumed a lot of coconut oil. I know some people can take coconut oil by the spoonful but it makes me gag and retch ( TMI, sorry) but once warmed to make it liquid, you can put in juice, soup, shakes. I also used coconut oil to cook with instead of butter or oil. Took at least 3 Tablespoons a day as well as monolaurin. Also MCT oil might help, popular for keto diets - though that gives me headache.

Good luck with it.
