25mcg levo dose increase

Does anyone else experience temporary side effects from a levo dose increase e.g. upset stomach, palpitations? It’s been that long since I’ve had an increase that I’ve forgotten. Only been on 125mcg for just over a week (increased from 100mcg.

Is the extra 25mcg a different brand to your 100mcg?

No I’ve managed to get the same brand now after trying numerous pharmacies 🙈

So it could just be the increase, maybe do it more slowly, cut the 25mcg into quarters, take 106.5mcg for a week and see how you go, if OK then go to 112.5mcg, see how it goes and gradually work up to 125mcg. Some people are ultra sensitive to increases or just may not need the full 25mcg extra.

I will give that a try, possibly I’m just more sensitive. Thank you

Good advice from SS...I get bad stomach every time I titrate upwards so I do exactly that...bit by bit. Seems to work and stomach often settles better to the increased dose after a few weeks/a month.

I'd be more concerned about getting palpitations myself though, so all the more reason to take that good advice and go ultra carefully.

Thank you, yes the palpitations are a bit concerning so I’m going to do it bit by bit now.

I just finished 2 weeks of an increase from 75mcg to 100mcg and I have felt shattered the last few days. I am sick at my stomach, heart palpitations, more tired, and weepy. Since I am this far into it, I hope it settles down in the next few days. I don't really want to reduce it at this point.

The people closes to.me say I go through this every time I have an increase. I hope they are right, because it us unpleasant right now. I have checked my blood pressure and it is fine.

Im sorry to hear that, hope you are soon feeling better. I think we must be more sensitive than some 😕

Try splitting your dose so you don’t get spikes that can upset your stomach or system. You could take your increased dose going to bed and the normal dose waking. See if that helps. I split my levo dose and feel much better.

That’s probably more practical to split it between bedtime and morning. I will definitely give that a try, thanks.

yes that happened to me with every increase. Try smaller dose as suggested OR ride it out. I also used to feel really hot and flushed about an hour after taking my dose all at once so I split it now.

Yes, I’ve been getting a flushed sensation an hour or so after taking it and a weird heady feeling.
