Have you messaged an admin yet to check if they have any information on these recommendations?

Armour has always been very pricey, more than any other NDT. It may well be that some of the recommendations you have are not genuine and you run the risk of losing your money. Such are the risks of buying non prescription thyroid hormones from the internet.

Thyroid S is so much cheaper than rest.

Members have experienced quite a bit of batch inconsistency recently. You do get what you pay for.

Yes I am seeing that !

Yes, Thyroid-S is much cheaper. But that doesn't matter if it doesn't work for you. NDT products are not all the same. I've only ever found one brand that worked for me, which unfortunately is no longer produced.

Well if It solves my Odema in my legs it will be worth it.I have been to hospital twice here in Spain and they are baffled !

Thay recommend I see a vascular Specialist in uk. Because of Brexit they wouldn't do more investigations.

At least it's not blood clots like last time 4 years ago

Funny thing iz I only got diagnosed with Bipolar while having blood clot here in Spain.

Why not T3? You need to get a full thyroid panel done - TSH, FT4 & Ft3.

Yorkshireman356 profile image
Yorkshireman356 in reply to Jaydee1507

What are my chances of getting a T3 prescription if I need it ?

On the NHS it would be slow and you would have to pick your Endo very carefully.

Privately a lot faster, still no guarantee but more likely again if you pick carefully. You can make a post asking for peoples experiences of the Endo you want to see.

You can email info@thyroiduk.org for a list of Endo's. Some do virtual consultations.

Its a more certain and less risky option than buying without prescription.

Agree, just going to see how it goes with my gp and blood tests 1st.

You do need to get all your ducks in a row before adding either NDT or T3. Low vitamin levels can make tolerance of anyhthing with T3 difficult.

Do put your feet up as much as possible to reduce the oedema.

Thank you. Funny thing i because of my Bipolar I have been house bound for 4 years gaining over 5o kg !

I came out of the depression 2 months ago and joined a gym with my wife working out with weights and cardio 6 times a week.

The odema started when we took the train to London, and I had to stand for over 90 minutes !

Probably too much exercise too soon and it will have depleted and down regulated further your T4 to T3 conversion

Yorkshireman356 profile image
Yorkshireman356 in reply to pennyannie

Yes never thought about that !

Bipolar and hypothyroidism can interact :

Guessing your T3 and T4 levels are not optimal.

And it used to be half its price not all that long ago (Thyroid S). I know let's file that under "things one does not need to hear!"

Laughing.

Could you PM the ones you found? I take occasion NP thyroid at the mo and the last batch of Thyroid S from a few years ago was too strong. I've heard it's changed so maybe it would be worth trying again.

I have struggled all my life with terrible lows and fantastic highs. It was a relief to be finally diagnosed when I was 50 !

I don't like the Bipolar meds because they have added so much weight ( 59 kg in 5 years ).

But maybe it's not the Bipolar meds and it's the Levo ?

Will have a better understanding once the bloods are done.

I will update you all once at home in the uk 🥵

Reading these articles has really made me think ! But what do I do after getting the blood results back ?

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply to Yorkshireman356

Come back with new post once you get results

Only do private test early Monday or Tuesday morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

I came out of the depression 2 months ago and joined a gym with my wife working out with weights and cardio 6 times a week.

Significant increase in exercise will need an increase in levothyroxine, especially if already not on high enough dose levothyroxine
