Graves Disease - blood test results

Thank you to everyone that has offered advice so far.

I have the results from follow up blood test (6 weeks after hyperthyroidism reoccurrence diagnosis)

My T4 is now within range but my TSH is still <0.01 but this has been marked as normal. (T3 not tested by the looks of it). Does this mean I am subclinical hyperthyroid?

I am taking 5mg carbimazole and have had no contact or instruction about dosage from the GP regarding recent results.

My results are also showing that my mean corpus hb.conc MCHC is also slightly low, but as it’s only slightly low it’s been marked as normal.

my mean corpus hemoglobin MCH is also right at the very bottom of normal range.

Previously my ferritin was low but that hasn’t been tested this time. I’m aware this is all anemia related. Is this because of the thyroid issue?

should I just assume that these all being at bottom/low is normal?

I’m not getting any contact from my GP and can’t get an appointment to ask.

Thank you

Do you have your FT4 result with the reference range? This is important as ranges vary from lab to lab.

TSH can be very slow to normalise (if it ever does) even when free hormone levels are normalised. Best to go by FT4/Ft3 for now.

Has your GP offered you any treatment for your low iron?

What were your other results for folate, B12 & D3?

Hi

My T4 is 15.30. The range is saying 9.01-19.05. It was 20.40 when I started on the carbimazole.

Ok so possibly to be expected that TSH is still low then?

They gave me some iron tablets about 9 months ago when my ferritin showed low. But this wasn’t followed up and they haven’t re tested the ferritin. They also said I was subclinical hyperthyroid at this point.

I don’t think anything else B12 etc has been tested (although actually I do remember my b12 was too high 9 months ago when my ferritin was low) hasn’t been retested though.

How are you feeling now?

Your FT4 is 62% of its range. Monitor how you feel and get bloods done again if things change.

Ask GP to retest ferritin and do a full iron panel, B12, folate and D3. Post results here for comments in a new post.

Ok so possibly to be expected that TSH is still low then? Correct, take no notice of it unless it swings to underactive.
