Ongoing symptoms

well things continue as before. Lightheaded everyday, intermittent, does not like getting too hot so struggling a bit in this weather and persistent nausea affecting appetite. Our new symptom is she feels front of throat swollen, feels it’s sore inside but not to touch, feels it affects her breathing. I do not see it swollen and have had no concerns with her breathing but she feels it. She does get recurrent tonsilitis and waiting on tonsillectomy but says this is different, further down neck. Had 72 hour ecg but still waiting on abdo u/s which I checked and is booked as routine so could be weeks yet. I called the consultant to let her know of new symptoms as I thought could be relevant but on annual leave so call back second week June. It’s all so worrying x

How long since last test

Request new test

Book early morning around 9am

Request/insist they include

Thyroid antibodies for autoimmune HYPOthyroid (hashimoto’s)

That’s TPO and TG antibodies

Hashimoto’s frequently starts with transient hyperthyroid results before becoming increasingly hypothyroid

Vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested too

And coeliac blood test

Or test thyroid and vitamin levels via Blue Horizon now yourself

Pay extra for private blood draw at “local to you” clinic

and graves antibody? It’s uk and will prob just get appoint whenever I’m given which so far has been afternoon 😩 last bloods few weeks ago and TSH dropping t4 rising. Symptoms are manageable currently but still impacting her daily. She is better at coping although still nervous about going out with friends in case they come on and she is only 13 so this is huge. My big worry is next bloods come back improved and she gets discharged without getting to bottom of it but surely that wouldn’t happen to a child. No rashes for a few weeks now but these very strange rashes make me defo think something auto immune x

Private test ….you can book an appointment for blood draw that suits you

Getting thyroid levels retested and TPO and TG antibodies and vitamins is first step

You won’t be able to test Graves antibodies. Only private company that offers it is Medichecks. They won’t test children. It has to be private blood draw test
