Possible too high dose levothyroxine?

Hi Everyone, so I’ve been taking 87.5mcg levothyroxine for possibly a year maybe longer, I was on sertraline for 6 years but stopped last July. I didn’t know if sertraline would have made levothyroxine less effective as I have found it does some other medications. I don’t know if that will have any significance on levothyroxine but since then things have gone downhill. The last two weeks though I’ve struggled with anxiety, bloating, extreme lack of appetite but weirdly I’ve been getting weird like tremors in my body, like when you shiver but more intense in your stomach and also when I’ve been falling asleep I get muscle twitches jerks mostly in my chest. But in general I feel really off and weird in my head and I almost feel the the weird tremors are gonna start in my arms as they feel strange. I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced this if they have been on a too higher dose? I know normally on a too high dose you would have increased appetite but I figure if it’s causing deep anxiety then this is causing bloating because of tension and stress of what is happening?

My last TSH in March was 0.92 miu/L range 0.35-4.94. Although I do expect a result today or tomorrow through Thriva as I wanted to check T4 and T3 to see where they’re at.

Any feedback would be much appreciated as I’m worried of all sorts right now. TIA

Until you get your Thriva results with FT4 & FT3 we can't really say what is happening. Low FT3 often causes odd symptoms, especially anxiety.

Did you also get your vitamin levels tested - ferritin, folate, B12 & d3? If thesde levels are no optimal our thyroid hormone cannot work well.

What vitamins are you taking?

Do you know if you had positive thyroid antibodies? Many with autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's benefit from a gluten free diet. A smaller percentage of those also need to remove dairy from their diet to feel well. These are intolerances and will not show up on any blood test.

Hi Jaydee, I did also get my vitamins checked however Thriva emailed me today to say my sample was contaminated 🙁 so they’re sending me a replacement kit to do another one. So I’ll not know for another week now.

I take vitamin b complex, 2000iu vitamin D3 and 200mg magnesium.

Yeah both my antibodies are high. I do stay away from bread, pasta, but I do occasionally have other things that may have gluten in them but I do try to stay relatively healthy and cook from scratch where I can. I have wondered if I’m dairy intolerant but I don’t have much of symptoms wise.

Gluten free needs to be strictly gluten free to be effective, worth trying. Same with dairy free. You will notice you feel improvements if it helps.
