I posted a few days ago about my last bloods being awful, I since found out why.. I thought I was talking my 20mg T3 at 8am then 5mg at 6.30pm, but what I failed to realise was I was actually taking 5mg at 8am and 5mg at 6.30 as I hadn't realised I'd run out of 20s🤦♀️ (the boxes are the same hard to distinguish between 20s/5s...so that clears up the awful blood results.
I go to get my next prescription and the pharmacist tells me they only have 10s (I have no prescription for 10s) I've rang back and forth since last week to obtain my 20s and 5s but could only have the one box of 10s😠 yesterday the Drs receptionist told me some gp as put my T3 on hold, and wants a review of the medication, he as arranged to call me on may 23rd to discuss this, I have one box of 10s which I have now got 2 strips left to last until the 23rd I'm having to go bk to 20s (2 10) as its hard to split the 10 into 2 5s even though I'm taking the powder out of the capsules 😠.. How on earth can a gp hold thyroid medication from me?? If the results are not what he likes then he should be contacting me sooner.
I tried to explain the mix up of my thyroid medication to the receptionist yesterday but to no avail, she just told me to try and get an appointment rining between 8am 9am🤦♀️ also i mentioned to this receptionist about the t3 having to be Orderd in as it can take up to 2 weeks (the pharmacists words not mine) in her mail to me yesterday she also put at the bottom "your thyroid medication can be in the chemist in one to two days... I've never got my T3 that fast I always put my prescription in when I have 2 wks supply left and it's always touch and go then getting it. 😠
I honestly think Dr's just have no idea how to treat us thyroid patients, what the hell does he thinks gona happen when I run out of meds in a few days 😠😠 obviously it's back to running around today rining the surgery and chemist again 😠🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️.... Ho the thyroid life!!!!

Hi slowdragon ❤️Just another saga in my thyroid life🤦♀️.. I can get the t3, it's just this gp as had the knee jerk reaction to my last blood results 🤦♀️I've tried explaining to the receptionist it was a mistake on my part, I'd been taking the wrong amount for around 10 days 🤦♀️and as I've discovered the glitch could I just have my thyroid medication reinstate, ho no that's to easy😠... She is holding me to this phone appointment on may 23rd with this gp.... I will be furious if its my old gp doing this as he is still working within this surgery (this wouldn't surprise me) I've just managed to get through to my surgery, no appointments left for today no calls form the gps either, and we are closing the surgery at 10am for training 🤦♀️... NICE!! .. No wonder people can't get appointments😠.
So now I'm left with ringing the surgery tomorrow at 8am in the hope I can either speak to a gp or get an appointment 😠 ho she also said seeing as you've only been on this medication for a short time you need review every month... Its policy at this surgery (my old gp never did this) but as I mentioned I've been on T3 for 12 months teva and now Roma And been with this surgery since Jan 3rd so why the review now???
Honestly slowdragon it's enough to make you want to throw yourself of a high cliff, it certainly doesn't do my mental health any favours either 🤦♀️🤦♀️
So sorry birkie; what an awful situation. I’d try and get an urgent phone consultation with GP to try & explain things. However, I fully appreciate these are like ‘gold dust’! 🤞
Yeah gona have to ring tomorrow hopefully I can get a call bk with a gp🙏 it only requiers him to know my silly mistake, if I can get my 20s and 5s reinstated I can start again for the next 7 wks then do another blood test.
I'm fully aware I made the mistake, but him reducing my thyroid medication to 10 MG per day (instructions on the box from gp) surely this will just make me more hypo🤦♀️ plus I'll have none left by the 23rd may😠 what the hell are they thinking and why do we as patients have to run around to get our meds sorted🤯🤯🤯
It is wrong for them to mess you around like this , maybe tell them you felt awful since they reduced the dose whit awful symptoms AND THEY WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE LOWERING IT AGAIN 👹👹👹
By the way, what other thyroid meds did you try before t3? I never had success with ndt and im not sure why, but thinking about trying t3. My tsh is always high with high blood t3 which i find ODD!
I've been on T4 tablets and liquid tried them all, they all gave me stomach /bowle problems (I'm lactose intolerant and have colitis) tried all the t3s last was teva lactose free but it contained mannitol so still had the problem.
I started T3 lactose free Roma been on this for 18 wks with the same results although I'm putting up with it and it's not as bad as the teva😖 it's not nice having diarrhea every day with bad cramps, I've been on 5 times today😖.. I've been taking the power out of the capsules thinking maybe it's the ingredients in the shell, I've been doing this for around 2wks still no improvement, I'm really sure the thyroid meds are flaring up the colitis because I have inflammation in the bowles all the time now, I look pregnant 🙄 I'm awful with synthetic meds so maby NDT might suit me🤷♀️
