Hi all

This is a previous post of mine - just to get the other levels if need healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Just got VitD levels back, there is no range so I am sharing a screenshot to give all the info. As always, it says it's fine, but you guys often have different views!

Thank you

Stacey

There is a range, sort of, at the left hand side. But with Vit D it's not essential to have the range, all you need to know is what your result is and what the recommended level is said to be, and according to the Vit D Council, Vit D Society and Grassroots Health that is 100-150nmol/L with a recent blog post on Grassroots Health recommending 125nmol/L, and Monitor My Health doesn't appear to agree with that if they consider approx 60-100 replete.

So if I had a level of 76nmol/L like you I would want it higher and to be within the range recommended by the Vit D Council, etc.

Are you taking any Vit D supplements?

You might want to check out a recent post that I wrote about Vit D and supplementing:

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

and you can check out the link to how to work out the dose you need to increase your current level to the recommended level.

Your current level of 76nmol/L = 30.4ng/ml

On the Vit D Council's website

web.archive.org/web/2019070...

you will see that to achieve the recommended level from your current level they suggest taking 2,500iu D3 daily but as you're just 0.4 over the previous table you might want to consider anywhere between 2,500 and 3,700iu, maybe 3,000iu. There are also the important cofactors needed when taking D3 - magnesium and Vit K2-MK7 which are mentioned in my other post I linked to.

staceedin,

Anything under 80nmol/L isn't good. Most of us aiming for 125nmol/L.

SeasideSusie already offered great supplementing advice.

Yes, thank you! Already bought a D/K combo as I supplement with magnesium already.
