[Pinkisland]

My endocrinologist prescribed Thybon Henning Liothyronine and told me to buy it from Springfield pharmacy in Richmond. It arrived in a tub with no brand name or instruction leaflet. Has anybody else purchased from Springfield and had a similar experience? I would just like to know for sure that it is the real thing before I take it. Thanks in advance

According to the MHRA a patient information leaflet must be issued with medicines that are dispensed. gov.uk/guidance/medicines-p...

Have you contacted the pharmacy to ask why they have not? You could also check with them exactly what they have given you.

My Thybon Henning arrives to me in blister packs of 100 in a box.

It may be that he prescribed an odd amount but they should still hasve left it in the blister pack.

Thybon henning should cost 50-60p per 20mcg tablet.

Just found out that the leaflet is in German and that's why I haven't received one.

That is correct it is but there is such a thing as Google Lens that will translate text for you instantly. Not sure if thats a good reason or not not to supply one  SeasideSusie ?

Why was it in a pot? Its usually in a blister pack.

Even if it was in German I would have thought the pharmacy should have mentioned this and given them the opportunity to have the leaflet and translate it. I've never had Thybon Henning T3 so don't know what's normal.

If blister packs in a box are issued then surely the box would be sealed with the PIL inside so there really shouldn't be any reason not to give the PIL if the tablets are dispensed in a bottle.

I really don't understand why they were in a bottle though. If it was an odd number then they'd just cut the blister pack to make up the correct number. I'd be worried they weren't Thybon Henning. I wonder if there's some identifying marking on the tablets - helvella do you know about that?

I get my Thybon henning from Roseway labs. Boxed 100 blister tabs and leaflet is in English

Thybon Henning looks like this and they should give you the English version of the PIL - at least that’s what I get.

Thybon 20 Henning is in packages holding 50 and 100 tablets.

Patients shouldn't need to know this! The prescriber and dispenser should manage it all.

my Roseway compounded (own label/unlabelled) came in a pot, with very poor patient information, it sounds like you might not have Thybon 🤷🏽‍♀️

here you go.. I only have 5mcg I’m quite new in the process.

This is the bottle, so they make up their own capsules (it’s called a compounding pharmacy) and because I have to have lactose free this is what they delivered. It means they can choose what fillers to use etc. 🌱

Thybon works for me, my endo' orders a private prescription.

Went on Morningside brand when my GP prescribed T3 but that didn't agree with me, joint pain, so returned to Thybon privately. I know it works as I was overmedicated on T3, so have reduced now. All the best.

Hi Pinkisland, I receive my thyroid meds from Springfield because of various intolerances, in particular acacia powder (in TEVA, makes me feel awful.) I take 100mcgm Almus levothyroxine each day and 3 x 5 mcgm of Sigma Pharma liothyronine, 10 mcgm in morning and 5 mcgm in evening. My GP sends my scrip electronically every 2 months.

I know that Sigma Pharma 5mcgm comes in white plastic pots of 90 tablets with the PIL attached. I expected to receive 2 x 90 tablet pots but always receive a brown plastic pot with 180 x 5mcgm tablets tablets. I have to ask for a PIL!!

I know about the fact that a PIL should be available every time and have been too lazy to do anything about it. However, I do need to do something because I think I may be having some issues with my meds and of course I do not have a LOT number. The brown bottle has a printed label with my details, date of dispense and says Sigma Pharma 5 mcgm.

I did take Thybon before Brexit and used a pill cutter so depending on what my latest blood tests say I might ask for Thybon and yellow card SP but wouldn't be able to give a LOT number.
