Feelings of coldness on my forehead

Like I’ve been an idiot and didn’t take my levothyroxine for about 10 days. A lot of things happened in my family and I forgot and my anxiety got really bad.

Like I’m concerned if people have experienced this symptom it feels like my forehead is cold but like I don’t think I’ve been sweating at all and also watery eyes but I haven’t been upset.

I’ve restarted again taking it for the last couple days. I need to test my levels again but since I’ve forgotten for a while I assume my levels are going to be skewed. I just get really concerned about my symptoms and the GP can be really shit with them tbh.

No point retesting until been back on constant unchanging dose levothyroxine for at least 6-8 weeks

Likely vitamin levels will have dropped, perhaps significantly

You probably want to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Or at least test vitamin D now

NHS easy postal kit vitamin D test £31 via

vitamindtest.org.uk

and then test others with thyroid levels in 6-8 weeks

all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

List of private testing options and money off codes

Medichecks Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins

medichecks.com/products/adv...

Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold includes antibodies, cortisol and vitamins

bluehorizonbloodtests.co.uk...

If you can get GP to test vitamins then cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3

£32 (via NHS private service ) and 10% off if go on thyroid uk for code

thyroiduk.org/getting-a-dia...

monitormyhealth.org.uk/

Monitor My Health also now offer thyroid and vitamin testing, plus cholesterol and HBA1C for £65

(Doesn’t include thyroid antibodies)

10% off code here

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning.

How much levothyroxine are you currently prescribed

Looking at previous posts you already knew you had low vitamin D, folate deficiency and low B12

Presumably you are still taking folic acid, vitamin D and separate B12

currently prescribed 100mg levo

Vitamin B complex.

Vitamin D spray.

Just worried there is something wrong with me but I can’t see a doctor. Maybe it’s in my head

It will probably take at least 2-4 weeks to get back to where you were before you stopped taking levothyroxine

Levothyroxine can’t instantly replace the missing days

Might feel a bit rough until levels settle

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

Do you always get same brand

Always make sure you get new prescription in plenty of time so you don’t ever run out

Retest bloods in 6-8 weeks

Book early morning appointment, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

missing levo for 10 days would leave me feeling very unwell too. the missed doses are the problem , and realistically you can expect it to take at least a week/ 10 days to feel a bit better again once you start retaking it correctly again .. and it may take 2 or 3 weeks to feel properly ok , so don't panic, just go back to taking it every day and wait , then retest after 6 weeks if you still don't feel ok at that point .
