Hello, I'm really fed up today. I've been getting headaches, the last 3 weeks, each time lasting around 3 days...the last 2 weeks I ploughed on through on pain killers, but this week I came home from work and took to my bed. I am hypothyroid, on 150 Levo and have booked a blood test with GP for next Thursday.
I had been doing pretty ok, started taking Steraline in Nov to help with depression and generally had been feeling much better since.
I really want to change my job, and retrain. I have been weighing up the possibility of taking a full time degree course, I'm not confident I will be able to cope with it.

I've pinned down the triggers over the years for my headaches, used to have a regular monthly so drop in hormones triggered along with dairy, nightshades and histamine.
HRT and avoiding the others seems to have done the trick 🙏
I’m sorry about your headaches GrowingVeg. I know someone who started with headaches a few months after taking an antidepressant & this resolved when she swapped brands; so I would discuss with your pharmacist & GP.
Regarding a career change, in my opinion I think ‘go for it!’ I’ve moved from research/ teaching to a new job & am so glad I did. I needed a change both physically & mentally & it’s done me the world of good. Ive actually enjoyed learning new processes. Remember you can always take longer to complete a degree if you go it part- time, so do explore all options. Best wishes to you 🦋
When I was on Levo quite honestly I felt like they describe people on "speed" amphetamines. It was so darn miserable. After 4 3/4 years I decided to wean myself and notified the doctor much to his dismay. Quite honestly I believe I was misdiagnosed! There is a video on YOUTUBE from Rain Country where a couple weaned themselves off and are well according to them. I suggest being sure about your diagnosis first and fore most and do a lot of research and journal yourself ( diet , behavior, how your feel , etc.). Consider the experiences of others. I couldn't live on Levo quite honestly it damaged my over all health. Some of the damage maybe be permanent. My opinion may get bashed, but it was my experience and I am being honest.
Hello. Sorry I be too slow. I feel your pain. I didn’t do well on Levothyroxin or any of the generic ones. Increasing doses made me feel worse. Depression and anxiety was skyrocketing. Doctor only wanted to prescribe anti depressants. Most antidepressants can make depression and anxiety worse especially if you try to get off of them. So I didn’t take them. Jumped down rabbit holes to educate myself about what was going on. Found a hormone specialist to finally give me the bloodwork I needed and got started on the natural desiccated thyroid hormone which includes T3. Has worked best for me. Found I was deficient in many vitamins and minerals including iodine. Depression and anxiety is a lot better than it was. I’m now working on gut and liver health to insure I get good conversion of T4. Yea! I can almost make it past 3:00 pm now. Before NDT I couldn’t even get the day started.
