Hi everyone! Been under incredible lot of stress in recently months. But the last couple of days been waking up with really bad tension headaches :( Just feel like taking the top of my head off and releasing the tension!

I am on the correct dose for me of thyroid meds etc but just wondered if anyone suffers with headaches.

Have a good day :)

I do, but I think it's related to neck and shoulder strain from the way I sleep - you have obstructive apnoea too, don't you? Might your headaches be compounded by this? Stress can cause muscle tension around the jaws, shoulders, back, and if anything else is going on I think headaches are inevitable.

I hope whatever is troubling you will be resolved soon. :-)

Gosh you have a good memory Hillwoman!

Yes I do have OSA and sleep upright. I have been sleeping better but maybe too long. I woke this morning quite late for me, but everything looked all fuzzy at first, a bit of brain fog too - pounding headache soon followed. It is on my left side.

We are three days off from completion on our dad's house, the last part of our childhood gone - Still grieving for my folks and sister, so the last bit of the jigsaw.

Also not too impressed with my brothers lack of help. As usual it is my husband and I doing it all, mainly my hubs on the physical side. So will be glad to see the back of it all and focus on us. I think most probably why I have the tension headaches :(

Thanks everyone and hope you are all ok :) xx

Oh Jollydolly, I didn't realise you'd lost family...And selling up is always stressful, especially when there are lifelong memories attached.

All the best, and take care of yourself. xx

Yes it has been very sad, well heart breaking for me, as my sister was my world! She lived with us for the last six years. She had learning difficulties and suffered a fatal seizure in May in front of me. I am finding it difficult to come to terms with it all as she was the apple of our eye :( There was nothing I or my husband could do to stop it. So lost without her. But getting help.

Thank you and take care :)

Hi Jolly Dolly

When stressed or overtired I get a bad tension head on the left side, top of my head. Feels like you want to poke your fingers in and massage it away!

I find that drinking more fluids helps, also a little tiny bit extra of usual medication, then back to normal dose. I'm T3 only though, so maybe that's easier for me.

Maybe being stressed or overactive physically kind of saps your reserves a bit.

Hopefully this is helpful, if only to know you're not the only one!

Liz

Hi sandpebble,

Yes my headache is on the left side too - it is easing off now thank goodness. Just my eyes a little sore now.

I am on a combination of mainly T4 (200 mcg) which I call my natural dose and 20 mcg of T3 (Lithyronine).

I will be glad when this year is over and I am glad I am not going mad. But would not wish headaches on anyone lol.

Take care and thanks :) xx

Stress and anxiety definitely give me tension headaches but I have found if I increase adrenal support for a couple of days when stressful situations crop up the headaches ease off or even don't happen if my foggy brain allows me to increase at first hint of stress. I use holy basil. May be coincidence or placebo but it works for me.... and I don't get to use those words too often ;)

Thankfully it is easing off now, just feel a dull ache in my eyes and back of head. I think the fog is lifting, but just not my usual nutty self lol ha ha! ;)

Still got my SOH at least ;) xx
