Undate after endocrinologist appointment

Hi I just wanted to give an update after my endocrinologist appointment today. I also wanted to say thankyou to everyone for replying to my post and giving me advice. Ok so Im a bit disappointed with the appointment it sounded like she doesn't believe my results either 😮‍💨 she said it depends what solution is being used in the testing process as she doesn't know what is being used at the private testing. I used blue horizon.

So shes sending me for more thyroid tests but has asked for it to be sent to Cambridge to be tested.

She said my B12, folate, ferritin and cortisol were all ok.

She also said my vitamin D deficiency is not connected to my thyroid. She didn't mention the cholesterol.

She also said my vitamin D deficiency will have nothing to do with malabsortion as it comes from the sun.

I said i was taking vitamin D supplements already but she said it probably wasn't high enough as you need to be having at least 1000 IU.

So I have to wait 3 months to find out whether the test I've been having for a year and a half are correct.

Im feeling very frustrated but im hoping the extra strong vitamin D tablets will help with a lot of symptoms as they are similar to hypothyroidism.

Hope this all make sense as I am dyslexic so there might be mistakes ive not seen. Also how do I put a link to the previous posts?

Thankyou

NHS only tests and treats vitamin deficiencies

Your folate, B12 and ferritin all (just) within range but all far too low

So going to be down to you to self supplement to improve low B12 and folate

Low Vitamin D is DEFINITELY linked to hypothyroidism

GP is obligated to prescribe LOADING dose vitamin D as you are vitamin D deficient

Once you complete the vitamin D prescription from GP

Recommend trying the vitamin D mouth spray…..as it avoids poor gut function of hypothyroidism

details in previous post

Similarly trial strictly gluten free diet

After 2-3 months trial Dairy Free too

Sounds like endocrinologist was diabetes specialist
