Whilst we saw their levothyroxine withdrawn last year, I just saw something that made me wonder if it is coming back.
The dm+d is a database of all medicines. Much else in the NHS uses the dm+d data as a starting point. It is a legal requirement for new medicines to be added to dm+d within something like two days. And, though it is clearly hard to believe, your GP surgery system will get its data from dm+d. Just might take months to feed through.
Name Start Date End Date
Name Levothyroxine sodium 100microgram tablets 22-02-2023
I can't be certain that this date represents a change. It could, I guess, be a mistake. But to have such a recent date suggests an outside possibility that it is returning to market.

The time I contacted Glenmark last August the person I spoke with took my contact details then it took them 3 or 4 weeks to get back to me to confirm what I already knew; that it had been discontinued here in the UK.
If it is back then at least there's another thyroxine brand that's available.
Thanks for this. Looks as if may be 100mcg tablet only? It was a 25mcg Glenmark tablet I had last year. I wondered if they were allowed 25mcg in the market because there is only 2 makers of these, and possibly there might have been a problem with their supply at the time?
Looks like an excellent result then. Well done on your phenominal knowledge re. medications existing and forthcoming. Glenmark seemed to appear and disappear a few times. I had it for 2 months, then it was discontinued. Lets hope its here to stay!
